Rusty by Kimberly Kelly Santini

Congratulations Kimberly Kelly Santini, this year's winner of the Mutt Lynch Winery – Dog Art Today Wine Label Contest. Winemaker, Brenda Lynch, label designer, Rae Huestis, and I are thrilled that this soulful piece will grace the bottle of an exclusive bottle of red to be released at this year's Dog Days of Summer event in Healdsburg, Sonoma, CA on August 14, 2010.  The wine will simply be called "Rusty" and 10% of proceeds will benefit the SFPCA.

Kimberly will win a case of wine, tickets to the event, and a profile on Dog Art Today.  We love "Rusty" and can't wait to taste his namesake.  Thank you again, to all the artists who entered.   We look forward to seeing you next year.

Lovely! I was curious, when I first saw it, if this was done with cloth or paper or both. Either way, it is fantastic! I am always glad to see great fiber art (and, of course, great dog art).

It will be available after its August 14 debut. Last years was fantastic. I will keep you posted.

Thank you everyone – I am still reeling from the news. There were so many fabulous designs to begin with and such a tremendously talented group of artists – I really don’t know how I lucked out, but I’m loving this and will do my best to enjoy and savor every moment!
Lori S, the piece was created with various types of paper and acrylic paints. Not a method I normally use except in my journal (I’m a painter) but it fit the assignment perfectly.

Kimberly! Wonderful and well deserved, I love this portrait and how exciting that you win with other/ multi media. I saw that right away. Brave to do that, going outside your comfort zone, but hey the dog is so good looking and looking better yet! Congrats! I hope we’ll see this label in our neck of the woods (Seattle, distributor?).
