Doyle New York’s Dogs In Art Auction 2008

Only A Pair of Deuces by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge, estimate: $60,000 – 80,000.

Doyle New York’s 10th Annual Dogs In Art Auction is another wonderful treat for dog art lovers in town for the Westminster Dog Show. This year, excitement is brewing around two Cassius Marcellus Coolidge paintings that are being offered from the estate of the artist’s daughter, Marcella B. Coolidge. Only A Pair Of Deuces, is one of Coolidge’s famous dogs playing poker pieces. But the one I have my eye on is A Breach Of Promise Suit which depicts a hilariously detailed doggie courtroom scene.

A Breach of Promise Suit by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge, estimate $30,000 – 50,000.

This sale will be interesting to track, since Doyle set a record in 2005 when two of Coolidge’s paintings, A Bold Bluff and Waterloo, sold for $590,000!

My dogs totally want to take me to court and sue me for more frequent feedings.
