After so many sad posts last week, I am so happy to introduce you to Sabrina Helas’s new Golden Retriever puppy named Henry. You will recall that Sabrina lost her dog Kramer last month to cancer. One of her clients had a litter of puppies and offered her one. As she said, “How could I refuse?” Now, there are still tears for Kramer, but tempered with laughter with Henry, who is Sabrina’s first puppy.

My two pieces of advice are 1.) go to puppy school when he’s old enough. It’s a blast and it will give you your sanity back to be able to communicate with him. And 2.) take lots of photos and then take some more. He will grow right before your eyes!

and YES, I NEED puppy tips! I adopted Kramer at 2(ish) and when we met he was perfect and believe it or not just got more perfect as the years went on.
Henry on the other hand has no manners 😉
He is an adorable little monster who makes us laugh at every endearingly dumb thing he does. (Kramer would have hated him).
We picked up Kramer’s ashes today and there was a bitter sweetness, still so many tears are left for our beautiful boy, but then you turn to Henry and can’t help but laugh. Who needs therapy when there are puppies in the world!

congrats sabrina!!! henry is beautiful – you will have so much fun photographing him and learning who he is.
when i’ve lost dogs in the past, i’ve always gotten another dog not too long after. it never meant i was trying to forget the dog i lost – i just think that having a puppy around reminds you why it is that you give your heart to an animal – and getting to know who this new little guy is will be an exciting journey!

oh sabrina congratulations! I know how devastated she was when kramer passed. this little guy will bring joy for sure. kramer is in the big doggie park in the sky, smiling down on both of them.
