Please say some prayers and send some positive energy to Darby. He is having a kidney removed today. A cancerous tumor was discovered on it last week, but no cancer appears to have spread. His prognosis is good, but surgery is always scary. Photo is him at 10 weeks. I still picture him as my puppy.

10.08.07 Update: Darby’s surgery went well. He will be recovering for two days at the vet, then should be back at home and getting back to normal.

10.08.07 Update: I just spoke with the surgeon and Darby sounds good. He’s moving around and will go out for a walk today. I should be able to take him home tomorrow. Thanks for all your thoughts, prayers, and good doggie karma 🙂

10.11.07 Update: Darby is home and doing well. I must confess, I was a bit shaken by the Frankenstein-like staples along his entire belly. This is not to criticize Dr. Sady Cabrerra who did the surgery and was truly awesome! Thank you so much everyone for your prayers and well wishes. I REALLY appreciate it!
