John Edwards is Not a Dog. I Owe an Apology to Dogs.

Remember back in January when I compared all the presidential nominees to dogs. I said that Edwards had a "Breed Identity Problem" because he was a Black Lab stuck in a Papillon's body.

Well, today I apologize to both breeds and to the dog species as a whole. Dogs are loving, loyal, and utterly honest. They don't know how to by hypocritical.

I can't say that for Senator Edwards who shows off his slick talents in this video made by his mistress, Rielle Hunter. Watch him pour on the charm and listen to her giggle as they travel on his private jet and he puts the finishing touches on a speech calling for a "moral, honest, and just America."

Loving, loyal and honest? You’re not talking about my dogs. Today Henry deliberately and ostentatiously peed in the living room after being denied a bite of sausage. Well, I guess that’s an honest expression of his feelings but I didn’t feel it was particularly loving.

Yeah, he’s an ass, but he’s also a politician. They are convinced that they are entitled, through their dexterous manipulation of human emotion and psychology, to special treatment. Kind of like my dogs.

Wendy – why were you being so unloving by denying Henry a delectable piece of sausage? I think he was just telling you how he feels.
Patrick and Clair — interesting (and funny) comparisons, that dogs are manipulative and easily swayed, exactly like politicians. But they are also completely transparent.
You would never find a video tape of your dog exhibiting “personality”traits you never knew they had. Like the creepy one posted here of a self-centered shallow childish man who projects such passion and gravitas for moral change in America. That’s what might be what makes me so mad…I feel like a sucker.
Darby is definitely manipulative, but he has absolutely no guile. And, yes he has been known to use pee as a weapon. But the Geneva Convention allows weaponized pee in certain circumstances as far as I know.

Wow what an interesting clip. It’s amazing that anyone in his camp ever thought these were suitable for airing even without the gross hanky panky. The filmmaking is serviceable but it’s the choices! Shooting this ‘everyman’ on a private plane. Using clips where he talks about whether ‘normal Americans’ understand what ‘we’ do….which, based on the clip seems to be ride around in private planes, buy expensive shoes and mock the people who work for you while flirting with the female director.
Compare it to Alexandra Pelosi’s docu “Journeys with George” about her time on the press bus following George Bush around. I don’t like George Bush’s politics but at the end of the film was left with the feeling if George Bush wasn’t the guy in charge of the country he wouldn’t be bad company at a bbq…John Edwards on the other hand-just yuck.
