Any Thoughts?

Suggestion_box_1

The new year is a great time to make changes.  I am not planning anything drastic for this blog, but I would love to know what you would like to see more and less of on Dog Art Today.  If I could take you out to lunch and brainstorm about the future here, these are some of the questions I would ask:

What are your favorite types of articles?  History of art, artist spotlight, funny videos, etc?

Would you like more content every day/week?

Would you prefer more photos of artwork and less words?

Do you like guest bloggers, someone who brings a different "voice" to the blog?

Would you like to be a guest blogger?

More dog art contests?

Is a Dog Art Today coffee table book or calendar a good idea?  Would you by one?  Would you like to contribute artwork to one?

Tell me something you've seen on other blogs that you would like to see here?

What has disappointed you about your subscription?

Do you like or dislike posts that are more personal?

Are my advertising rates too high?  What would you like to see available you for your marketing purposes?

Other ideas?

Please feel free to share your ideas in the comments section below.  If you would like to email me privately write to moira@dreamdogsart.com

Thank you,

Moira McLaughlin

I have loved DogArt Today in its many forms. I especially like the personal stories and/or words of yours that accompany the paintings and photos. You are a beautiful, insightful writer and critic, and I think it might be interesting to expand more with words when you post the art (especially the older stuff!). Just a thought — but most of all, I look forward to another year of your blog!

If there’s a way to make up a questionnaire, that would be great….I feel a bit overwhelmed by your list of questions which are all good, but would take paragraphs to respond to properly.
But, in a nutshell, I love your writing style and since it’s a dog art blog, seeing more frequent dog art (maybe bi-weekly) would make sense to me. There are enough funny videos all over the web. LOVE seeing photos of and hearing news of DARBY. Lower advertising rates would be also good (we are in a recession and most dog artists don’t have big bucks).
Dog art books and calendars are pretty common, but with your eye, they could be more unique (yes, I’d contribute though I think you’re not crazy about my work :>) I’m in one that was done in 2009 by an Aussie woman who breeds Clumber Spaniels:

Anyway, I’m sure yours would be far superior.
P.S. Goat stories/pics are always welcomed!

If you asked me all of those questions over lunch, we would have to indulge in several cocktails AND dessert because it would be a long conversation! Hee hee. I love that you are opening up the floor and asking for so much feedback; I think it’s quite brave. I’m going to weigh in with my two cents…
**I love art history, and I’m an art teacher, so I always love to see the presence of dogs in the work of the masters. As a pet portrait artist, I am equally interested to see current artwork featuring dogs.
**I love the idea of a coffee table book. I would buy it and/or contribute to it, for sure!
**I enjoy the posts about you, Darby, your family and friends, your home, etc.
**I had a great time with the Mutt Lynch Winery contest, and I’m thankful for the exposure it gave me. I can’t wait for the next one!
**I’m not always a fan of the “guest blogger” thing on other blogs, but I think it could be really cool on here. I think if there were an overarching theme to it, and the guest blogger installments fit that theme, it could be very interesting.
**I love your collages and I say keep making them and showing them off!
    Happy New Year, Moira!
