As a teen, San Francisco artist Lauren Davies was obsessed with dogs. She worked at a kennel, she enjoyed training dogs, and she even won a silver plate as a junior handler at a major dog show. In later years, art school, jobs, and other interests took over until, as an adult, she let 3 dogs into her life and her obsession rekindled.
Australian Shepherd and Maltese
She is now working on one of the most interesting dog art projects I’ve come across. She is creating miniature purebred dogs to scale using the fur from each breed. So the 11′ Poodle is made with all Poodle fur and the 5″ Maltese is all Maltese fur. I love when an artist can find art even in her dustpan.
