Still Life With Animated Dogs

I still haven't seen "My Dog Tulip" by Paul and Sandra Fierlinger, but longtime reader Tim Quinlivin sent me a link to an earlier work by the husband and wife animators entitled "Still Life With Animated Dogs."  It is exquisite on so many levels.  Take 26 minutes and 34 seconds and see what I mean.  Artists with dogs especially, this film is for you.

Thank you, Tim.

I wept too, Heidi. But also laughed. And was so moved — it is a very spiritual film that puts into words what dog lovers feel. I am so glad you took the time to watch it. It sat in my inbox for almost a month before I took the time to view it.

My pleasure, Sandra. Thank you for leaving a comment. I didnt know how much to write about the film, say too much instead of letting people experience it themselves. But I am so happy that people are taking the time to watch it. There is something about this grey time of year and the weight of all that is in front of us, that it speaks too. I am glad you found it.

Oh yes, it was funny as well! And I really enjoyed the artwork. What a treat of drawings. Have to look for more on Paul and Sandra Fierlinger.

I was also very so moved by film. Being a painter who has had many wonderful dogs through the years, lying loyally at my feet in my studio, I could relate on many levels, including spending time painting in Eastern Europe when it was still under the communist regime. The drawing in this film is so wonderful and the keen observation of dog and human gesture is exquisite. Thanks again so very much.
