    Boston photographer, Dana Berenson, has figured out the impossible, capturing a dog at full run. We all know that look, the unbridled joy of racing around the yard or returning with the ball. I always thought it was ephemeral. Dogs are too quick to get the action and the expression on film. Dana proves me wrong.   • William Wegman: From Maine Turnpikes to The Met

    Famed Weimaraner lover and artist, William Wegman, must have had an exciting week. On Wednesday, the Maine Turnpike Authority announced they’ve chosen his artwork to adorn three travel plazas on the highway, two in Kennebunk and one in West Gardiner. Then, last night, a series of four Polaroids, including a triptych of his dogs dressed in Hansel and Gretel costumes from next year’s Englbert Humberdink’s opera, were sold for $50,000 at The Metropolitan Opera’s “Art for Opera” event.   • Cami Johnson: Max(imum) Exposure

    Photographer Cami Johnson has taken thousands of dog pictures, but her best model might be her own dog, Max (pictured below.) “She’s a real ham in front of the camera,” says Cami. “She will sit still until she hears the film rewind, at which point she will accept her treat and walk away.” Images of Max have been published in Boston Magazine, Town and Country, and Urban Dog Magazine. She was also featured on a line of greeting cards by Marcel Schurman. Maybe you’re dog’s not so poised, but if you live in the Boston area, you can arrange a photography session with Cami and her old school camera – film not digital.
