I am very excited to announce that I will be a part of gallery owner Janice La Motta's upcoming exhibition, Just Dogs, at La Motta Fine Art in Hartford, CT on July 26th.  Four of my original collages and four limited edition prints will be on view along with my recent film Dogs in Art.

I am very honored to be included with eight other talented dog artists from across the country; Bill Bonecutter, Eric Ginsburg, Jane O'Hara, Dana Rose Lee, Leslie Enders Lee, Peter McCaffrey, Chuck Rigg, and Gary Steinborn, the last two whom, I am proud to say, Janice found on my blog.

Here is a taste of some of the works that will be on display.

Thanks for spreading the word Melissa. I know there will be at least one B&W Pug photo in it.
I am not going, but one of the other artist said she would take lots of photos.

I am planning to attend this reception on Saturday. Of course, I will introduce myself as M. Mclaughlin. And they will say “Moira McLaughin?” at which time I will smile and say “Just call me Em.”
Really, I do plan to go. Impersonation? I’ll play it by ear!

Tha was a great show! I met and hung out with the artists, Jane O’Hara (who took lots of pictures) and Leslie Enders Lee (whose stuff I really love).
I kept finding myself watching Moira’s movie on Dog Art. It was hypnotizing and very popular.
There were lots of dogs there. Mine were the only ones in dresses. Missy Paulette angered one gigantic dog, because the dog’s owner was quite smitten with Missy P who ran around chasing a ball and laid on her back for belly rubs. So the gigantic dog growled at Missy P. She took offense and gave her hell. (Just imagine an angry terrier.)
Then everyone calmed down and we looked at more art.

Oh, I took some pictures with a disposible camera but won’t get them until later today. The gallery had a photoghrapher with a big professional looking camera. I am sure his pictures will be better than mine.

Thanks for the report, Monica! I wish I was there. It sounds like the perfect afternoon. Art and dog antics.
Thanks for taking photos too. Look forward to seeing them when you get a chance.

So I was in the East Village today and came across a new chic pet supply store “Puppy Love Kitty Kat” and inside they had art on the wall. I thought I recognized the artist as one of those whose works were on Dog Art Today, that were shown in Hartford. I picked up a post card and just checked it out.
Yes. It’s true. I did recognize some Eric Ginsburg art! I am so impressed with myself.
