    I just found Valentine’s “Kerry” blue bandana that I had placed in the bottom of my underwear drawer on that abysmal day four years ago. Think I’ll order something Obamaish for her to wear now…

    My favorite dog item ever, was worn at one of the protests against the war- it said “I pee on the Bushes”.
    you didnt include the Sarah Palin image in the post here, only in the newsletter, and I have a comment on that.
    There’s a wolf! Accdg. to Sarah Palin that means it’s time to grab an airplane and an AK47 and do some aerial hunting!

    Nancy – I know that aerial wolf hunting legislation makes me sick. It’s discussed in the article I link to about the VP’s animal rights stance. But it made me too depressed to write about here. No energy to take on this anti-global warming, anti-polar bear, hunter, “super mom” and “Christian.”
    Elizabeth – Go Valentine! Poodles for Obama. Maybe the Kerry loss prevented creepy John Kerry from imploding in the White House with his own dirty laundry.
    Also, we need to discuss surfing. I have a gorgeous surf board gathering dust in my garage.

    I support Obama adopting a gentle adult Pit Bull. These types of dogs are desperately in need of rescue and are euthanized every day. Obama could send a good message this way.
    If he adopts a pure bred, the puppy mills will work the breeder dogs to death trying to supply the demand for whatever breed he chooses.
    He better not adopt a Westie or I will be very, very angry. (Obviously, my dogs are Westies.)

    Monica – I think adopting a rescue dog would be a brilliant idea.
    You are not alone in not wanting your dog breed selected. Some of the Portie Nation folks were not too happy about the campaign promoting them. But I also understand dog breed pride. I would be thrilled if he got a Doxie, ideally from a Doxie rescue.
