Sue at Woof Report wanted to make sure everyone knows about the 1st annual Canines & Wines event that Woof Report is hosting in collaboration with HALL Wines of St. Helena, CA this Sunday, August 2 from 11 am – 4 pm.

Admission is $20, but only $15 if you are a Woof Report subscriber.  Dogs are free.   20% of all
wine sales will benefit the Napa Humane Society.   The day will
include a select artisan wines, dog treats, dog facials, photo shoots courtesy of Fetch Foto, and more.

Unfortunately, Darby and I will not be able to attend since we will be heading to Wine Country the next weekend for Mutt Lynch's Dog Days of Summer event (more on that next week).  But if you're in the area, and love dogs and wine, think about attending both.  Drinking wine with your dog in a vineyard for a good cause never gets old.

Woof Report is a dog-centric newsletter that highlights trends, products, and articles delivered to your inbox.  It’s like Daily Candy for dogs.  Yesterday they had an awesome article about Japanese scientists who proved that dog owners experience the same bonding with their pets as parents do with their babies.

Japan’s Azuba University shows what dog people everywhere have
suspected for eons: We experience the same surge of emotions when
gazing at our pup as moms do with their babies. It’s all thanks to
burst of the delectable “cuddle chemical,” the hormone oxytocin. All we
need to do is play with our pets, look into their eyes, and the love
drug surges, banishing stress, breeding trust and lifting our spirits
    as it flows.
