  • Pilgrim’s Dogs

    First_thanksgiving_dogs

I had no idea that two dogs, a Mastiff and an English Springer Spaniel, were aboard the Mayflower.  They are mentioned in records of the settlement of Plymouth Colony written by Edward Winslow in 1622.  They seemed to have belonged to John Goodman and probably had pet names, but none are given.  Read about some of their adventures here.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Cats Are Pets Too: Maggie’s View by Moira McLaughlin

    Maggieblog2

For a dog artist, a surprising number of my commissions are for cats. Maggie was a black cat who lived in Plymouth, MA and loved to watch the lobster boats. She lived a long happy life with her owners Sue and Sam, and is dearly missed.
