  • German Shepherd Gifts

German Shepherds are the 3rd most popular dog breed in the U.S. This surprises me since I don’t know anyone who owns a German Shepherd (like how it’s all about me). But I trust the American Kennel Club’s statistics. And I trust that the German Shepherd owners are out there looking for Christmas gifts. So here are my picks:

    German_shepherd_painting

Anne & Florent oil painting by Dog Art Today favorite Rachelle Oatman. Available through Dog Art Dealer Jaynie Milligan Spector. Obviously a mixed marriage.

    German_shepherd_ornament
Stunning White German Shepherd ornament. Made of porcelain, it comes with a red ribbon for tree hanging. From the White German Shepherd Store.

    Germanshepherdabsolute

German Shepherd wired sculpture from Green Piece Wire Art. Also available as a topiary, in case you want a German Shepherd to simply stay in your yard and look pretty.

    German_shepherd_t_shirt

A German Shepherd herds his flock of sheep on this darling long sleeved t-shirt. Available in lots of great sizes and styles from Karen Hocker Studios.

    Monks_new_skete

Experts say not to give a puppy as a Christmas gift. But it’s soooo fun! If you do it this year, be sure to include the “Bible” of dog training, The Art of Raising a Puppy by the Monks of New Skete, who have been breeding German Shepherds for over 20 years. I used this book to train and understand (the Monks are big on understanding your dog, which I love) my Dachshund. I wonder if that’s why he thinks he’s a big dog?

    German_shepherd_fleece

Another great gift for a new puppy owner, a German Shepherd Men’s Fleece. You’ll need it to keep warm while you’re outside trying to understand why your dog won’t do her business. You asked nicely.

    German_shepher_custom

Hand carved German Shepherd portrait by Michael John dePierro. Visit his Parts of a Larger World to custom order one of his sculptures of your pet. He does people too.

  • Miniature Schnauzer Gifts

Starting out my top 10 dog breed countdown is the Miniature Schnauzer. Here are some great holiday gift ideas for the Miniature Schnauzer lover in your life.

    Miniature_schnauzer_art

Rebecca Collins’s gorgeously saturated canvas print of Cecil, the Miniature Schnauzer. Available on her Etsy shop. Rebecca is one of the most popular dog artists in the country and a Dog Art Today favorite. You can also order a custom digital painting of your pet from her ArtPaw website where gift certificates would make a wonderful gift too.

    Schnauzer_pin

Hand pierced sterling silver Schnauzer pin from Bone of Art where over 70 other dog breed pins are available now.

    Miniature_schnauzer

Groovy Miniature Schnauzer t-shirt from Gifts of Love who have dozens of other dog breeds with this design.

    Miniature_schnauzer_ornament

Say “Merry Christmas” with this lovely Miniature Schnauzer ornament from graphic artist Karen Hocker. It comes with a red ribbon for tree hanging.

    Schnauzer_art

Look closely at this limited edition lithograph. The Miniature Schnauzer is drawn entirely from the words Miniature Schnauzer! This is an Ebay auction item that will expire on November 21 at 12:22 PST. You can see more of the artist Kline’s work at his gallelryNow online store.

    Schnauzer_t_shirt

Evolution of the Schnauzer long sleeve T-shirt from Obey the Purebreed. Love it!

    Schnauzer_art_2

Although I don’t have any Miniature Schnauzer art in my DreamDogsArt store, I do have this Schnauzer mix collage (seen here on a coaster). It’s based on my sister Regan’s dog named Logan, who is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever known. He’s a big hit with Schnauzer lovers too.
