    I really do not like what has happened to the word "creative’."  As with many words, this word has been overused in such a huge variety of mostly bad commercial ways, that it no longer has the true meaning it once had as a word.   I haven’t yet found a word to replace it. The old meaning – to me – meant making things out of nothing, and out of anything.  Making things that come from a person’s imagination, past, present, future – and attempting to not be influenced by other people’s ways of thinking, being, imagining.  It is a hands-on search for self. – Anna Dibble

  • KG Studios’s K9 Corner

    I went a little Dachshund crazy yesterday.  So today I've selected some breeds of some of my readers from the groovy KG Studios in Oakland.  This band of four artists working out of a basement corner consists of KG and Peter Greenstein, Allan Dodge and Dave Hill, Sr.  They specialize in mosaics, wire work, and Kaleponi Ukuleles.

    I confess I have never worked in any of these media, but I know enough to know that making intricate curves out of squares is a true art.  And I am duly impressed.  Wouldn't you love one of these wonderful works for the bottom of your pool?

  • Dogs in Art: A New Film by Moira McLaughlin


    Several months in the making, my new film Dogs in Art was a true labor of love.  It was such a pleasure working so closely with all these spectacular pet portraits and charting the history of dogs in art over 5,000 years. The art and the artists were, and still are, endlessly inspiring. Hope you enjoy it!
