Knit Your Own Dog Book Giveaway

Dog artist and creative knitter Sally Muir sent me a note about the recent publication of her new book (with co-author Joanna Osborne), Knit Your Own Dog: The Second Litter, and asked if I'd like to share it.

Absolutely, I told her. The 2010 feature I wrote about Sally and Joanna's first book, Knit Your Own Dog, is one the the most popular posts I've ever run on Dog Art Today.
Since you loved it so much, I asked Sally's publisher, Black Dog & Leventhal, if they would sponsor a book giveaway.  They graciously agreed.

To win a copy of Knit Your Own Dog: The Second Litter leave note in the comments section below before midnight PST on Tuesday, Febrary 26, 2013.   The winner will be selected randomly and be announced on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.  This contest is only open to U.S. readers.

This is such a great idea. I had seen a knit cats book but not dogs. I am active in dog rescue and I can see these little pups being a huge seller at fundraisers or even a basket full of them for a raffle. Would LOVE to win this book as inspiration. Thanks

Hi Diane – Youre right. This is the second book by Joanna and Sally. The first one was wildly popular. Over 50,000 copies sold. But people were upset that many of their favorite breeds werent included. The Second Litter was made in response to the enthusiastic demand.
Thank you for all you do on behalf of dogs.

As I have three cats who really wouldn’t take to the real thing…the knitted variety is the next best thing and they don’t need walking….

    How cute!

That’s so awesome! I’d love that, as this one contains the Doberman. Do you know how hard it is to find cute dog things that include Dobermans?

I love Sally’s books. And your site. And dogs. And knitting.

As you might have guessed, I like the wirehair doxie. Lots of fun knitting in those books.

Hi. I was so excited to see this post because I saw the book in a little bookstore on Block island last summer and I asked my husband to get it for me for my birthday but of course he forgot. As a painter, a knitter and a huge dog lover, the little knitted dogs really speak to me! I have a mastiff lab pittbull mix who I would love to try to knit!! Though his physique may require a chunky yarn.

Really appreciate this book as a dog lover and knitter. I hope there’s a pekingese in there!

I remember when your first book came out and I was enchanted with it. I meant to visit but life got I’m the way. I’m a dogg rescuer who can’t knit but perhaps one of my volunteers could make some to sell at dog adoptions. I will buy both copies whether I win the second book or not. Wonderful job!

These little guys are so cool. I know at least two knitters who’d be enthralled. Thanks for the giveaway.
