This is from his series on the porn industry – “The Valley”. Unfortunately he passed from cancer last year. Amazing work that has inspired me for years. -
Hi Lauren – I just recently discovered Larry Sultan on another Photography site. I had never heard of him, but kept clicking through his work, totally in awe. When I found these Boxers to share I was thrilled.
Whats extra funny to me about this image is that I thought it was from the 70s but its actually from around 1997. I guess all porno homes (and maybe porno stars) look like they are from the 70s.
I can see how his work would be endlessly inspiring even though he has passed too soon. Thanks for leaving a comment. Happy New Year. -
I saw one of his images from the series used as stock to illustrate a story in The Bark on single women and their dogs in LA. I laughed all day thinking about how the dog in the photo looking longingly through the sliding-glass doors was not watching anything too innocent like a single women cooking herself dinner 😉
