Dogtography: Photo Exhibit by Dogs

Via Stuart Elliott of The New York Times:

For Mighty Mutts, an animal shelter and adoption service, McCann Erickson New York outfitted dogs with “collar-cams,” small digital cameras that can be mounted on canine collars and programmed to take photographs at regular intervals.

The resulting photos offer a look at the world from a dog’s point of view — a lot of “feet and fire hydrants,” said Sean Bryan, a group creative director at McCann Erickson New York, who worked on the campaign with Tom Murphy, also a group creative director; Molly Moyer, art director; and Ryan Montanti, copywriter.

The photos will be featured in a fund-raising exhibition on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Hendershot Gallery at 195 Chrystie Street in Manhattan. The exhibition is being called Dogtography: A Dog’s Eye View of New York.

The photos will be sold and the proceeds donated to Mighty Mutts.   Dogs are welcome at the exhibtion.

Here is another shot.  It really is dog art, today…

This is so creative! We have a pet camera that we put on our dog, and we always love seeing things from his view. What a great way to draw awareness to adoption.

I must know what a pet cam is?! Is this a regular camera rigged to take photos or a camera specifically for dog collars? I love this idea too.
