Abigail Thomas’s highly acclaimed memoir comes out in paperback on September 15. Voted one of the Best Book of 2006 by the LA Times and The Washington Post, A Three Dog Life tells the story of Thomas’s third husband’s hit and run car accident that left his brain shattered and memory gone. Thomas is forced to institutionalize him and instead of abandoning him, she sells her NYC apartment and settles into a new life with her three dogs in upstate New York to be near him. Stephen King has called the book “the best memoir I have ever read.”
For readers in Tempe and Tuscon, AZ you have a chance to meet the author this week. Check Thomas’s website for times and dates for her appearances.
