  • Matchbox Label T-shirts

    Hello, my name is Moira and I’m a phillumenist.

    phil·lu·men·ist \fi-_lü-m_-nist\ n. One who collects matchbooks or matchbox labels.

    It happened for me almost immediately when I discovered Jane McDevitt’s collection of Eastern European mid-century matchbox labels on Flickr. From there, I moved on to ebay where I bought eight dog-themed labels from a Dutch dealer named Stampede. Now, I’m shouting it out to the world and I don’t care who hears. I love matchbox labels!

    I had a great time this weekend in the West Hollywood Pumpkin Patch with my niece Layla.  Babies and pumpkins make a great photo op.  Dogs and pumpkins are super cute too, like this darling onsie from Corgi artist Karen Howell.

    My sister Sheila Cameron designed these T-shirts. She is the only person I know who actually witnessed Lauren Caitlin Upton’s response live on the Miss Teen USA Pageant.     In Lauren’s defense, I think we’ve all been there, just not on national TV. I can recall a espcially brutal charades game where I drew a complete blank and just stood there for a very long minute. (Clue was Daniel Deronda, title character in George Eliot novel.)
