  • Darth Vader and Princess Leia: The Indignant Dogs Costume Video

    OMG…ROTFLMAO!

Right after Chris Pirillo stopped filming, Pixie peed in place and Wicket bit his left hand.

  • 1 Second Film: Your Dog Can Be a Movie Producer

I love when Oprah shares the next great novel or the best comfy t-shirt. But I also love being in the know before Oprah is. Last year I was working at a charity event and I saw Nirvan Mullick standing behind a wooden lemonade-stand-like structure with “Be a Film Producer” painted atop it. Curious, I asked him what it was about. He said, for $1 I could become a producer on the world’s longest short film. The price was right, so I reached in my pocket and pulled out $1 and added my name to the credits of The 1 Second Film.

Back home, when I logged onto the website to fill out my producer profile, I noticed the option for dog producers, so of course I gave my credit to Darby. He loves creative endeavors that bring the world together for a good cause — all profits from the film will be donated to the Global Fund for Women. Hopefully Oprah and her dogs will too. Right now, Nirvan and his co-producers are on a “Road to Oprah” cross country trip to raise awareness and ultimately to ask Oprah to donate a $1. (See the video clip above to get the full story.) Good luck guys. See you on Oprah!

  • The Hero Dogs of 9/11 Thank You Video

No words can express our appreciation to the brave rescue workers who sacrificed so much that day. The dogs were very much a part of their efforts. Thank you to all the heroes of 9/11.

(I found this video of the wonderful Venezuelan website El Perruno Digital.)

  • Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson to Star in Marley & Me

    Marleyandme

Jennifer Aniston, owner of Norman, a Corgi-Terrier Mix, and Owen Wilson, owner of Garcia, an Australian Cattle Dog have signed on to star in John Grogan’s bestselling Memoir Marley & Me for Fox 2000. Brilliant casting I would say, as dog love would be impossible to fake.

  • Falling Back in Love with George Rodrigue’s Blue Dog

I was enthralled when I first saw George Rodrigue’s Blue Dog back in the 90s . Simple, bold, obviously impassioned, I “got “what excited dog and art lovers about his work. Over the years, truth be told, I’d become a little bored with the image. I felt like, ok, what’s new?

Yesterday I watched the short film Rodrigue: A Man & His Dog by David DuBos (narrated by Whoopi Goldberg), and I fell in love all over with Blue Dog.

I won’t say too much except take a few minutes and watch it. Discover Rodrigue’s elegiac efforts to depict his beloved Tiffany (Blue Dog’s real name) traveling across time and throughout the universe searching for Rodrigue and their life together. Clearly the artist is doing the same through his paintings. It’s beautiful, heart wrenching and profoundly moving. Enjoy.

Rodrigue has also just released two new silkscreens in signed limited editions of 100.
