Sheila Norgate’s Mixed Media Dogs

Dog Whisperers

I don’t remember how I discovered the treasure trove of dogs in British Columbia-based artist Sheila Norgate’s work.  But I know I was delighted by the themes of birds, dogs, and Sigmund Freud, and by her witty, soulful, and unequivocally feminist artist’s statement.   If I was the Jealous Curator, I would be very, very jealous of Sheila Norgate.  Since I’m not, I’ll just make this an extra-long post to refer to for inspiration as I head back into the studio.  I’ve decided to finish my Darby Calender for 2012, and I’m freaking out.
